The new grading system of the Academy
When enrolled in the Tokitsu-ryû method, each practitioner is able to see and understand the level he or she should be working towards. Grades are important in that they allow the practitioner to measure personal progress over time.
There are 4 grades in Jisei-kikô, 10 grades in Jisei-budô and 5 in Jisei-tai chi.
For each grade, Master Tokitsu has specified the relevant technical field of study as well as the degree of progress to be attained. The "official teaching programme" describes in detail the tests, the evaluation criteria for each level and the scale of exercises.
Your customised training programme for the next exam
If you are a candidate for promotion to the next grade, you will find in Intranet an extract of the official teaching programme. It is an individualised extract customised to your level.
Consequently, you have a specific revision programme for the next examination enabling you to prepare for it in better conditions, since it tells you in advance everything that will be asked of you during the exam.
The work programme is provided for Jisei-tai chi, for Jisei-budô and for Jisei-kikô, specifying in each case the technical field of study (with references to the relevant manual) as well as the degree of progress to be attained.
The evaluation criteria for your level, the scale of exercises and the total number of points required to obtain a grade have also been specified.

Exam sessions
A technical commission comprised of the founding master Kenji Tokitsu, the regional technical director and the main teacher(s) concerned will confer grades beyond black belt level. These grades are conferred in strict accordance with the rules laid down in the official teaching programme.
All the evaluation criteria concerned in your case will be sent to you prior to the exam.
